This $500 annual scholarship for high school seniors is given by Tom and Terri Effertz of TPS Insurance in honor and memory of Ted G. Ringhofer who died of cancer in 1997. 

Ted was a graduate of OHS.  While in school Ted was in wrestling, was the President of the Student Council, worked on homecoming floats and was involved in many other activities.  He was President of the Owatonna Chamber of Commerce for over 29 years and on the City Council for 24 years. 

Ted’s respect for our community can be seen in his many years of dedication and volunteer work.
